Initially, Frankel expressed her excitement, declaring that she was "so happy" and "thrilled" about Leakes' return. However, she quickly shifted gears, insinuating that Leakes might be returning to Bravo out of financial necessity or a need to stay relevant in the spotlight.
Adding another layer to her commentary, Frankel claimed that she had previously pitched a similar road trip concept to Bravo producers, where she and Leakes would travel across the country in an RV. She suggested that her idea was rejected because producers considered Leakes to be "kryptonite and toxic," hinting at her complicated history with the network. While she did not specify when she proposed this concept, she asserted that she has "all the receipts" to back up her claim.
Frankel also touched on what she sees as the "interesting dynamic" of Leakes working with Bravo once again after having filed a lawsuit against the network and Andy Cohen in 2022. In her legal action, Leakes accused Bravo of nurturing a workplace culture that tolerated racially insensitive behavior. "I’ve never heard of someone suing a company for various accusations and then being rehired by that same company. It’s certainly a unique situation," she remarked, expressing her curiosity over the precedent this sets.
Leakes, who departed from "RHOA" in September 2020, eventually decided to dismiss her lawsuit following months of negotiations, leaving the door open for potential future claims.
